DawaMap connects you with pharmacies near you. To do that we handle some of
your information, including photographs of prescriptions. This page says
exactly what we hold, why, who sees it, and how long we keep it.
## What we collect
- **Your phone number**, which is how you sign in. Your name, and your email if
you choose to give one.
- **Photographs of prescriptions** you send to a pharmacy, and any note you
attach to them.
- **Your insurance number**, only if you enter one.
- **Your orders and messages** — which pharmacy you sent a prescription to,
what they replied, the price they quoted, and the chat between you.
- **Your approximate location**, only while the map is open, to show pharmacies
near you. We do not track your location in the background.
- **A device token**, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when a
pharmacy replies.
## Why we collect it
To pass your prescription to the one pharmacy you chose, and to let that
pharmacy answer you. That is the whole purpose. We do not use your prescription
for anything else.
## Who can see your prescription
- **You.**
- **The pharmacy you sent it to.** No other pharmacy can see it — not one you
considered and did not choose, and not one you sent a different prescription
to.
- **DawaMap administrators**, who can access it for support and safety.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to build an advertising profile. We
do not share it with insurers — if your insurance covers a medicine, the
pharmacy checks that on their own systems, using the number you provided.
## How long we keep it
**A prescription image is destroyed 90 days after the order it belongs to is
completed, cancelled or declined.** The clock starts when the order finishes,
so an order still in progress keeps its prescription however long it takes.
After that, the order itself remains — the date, the pharmacy, the price and
your messages — but the photograph is permanently gone from our storage and
cannot be recovered.
## Deleting it sooner
**You can delete a prescription image at any time**, from the order in the app,
including while the order is still open. The pharmacy then sees that you
removed it.
Deleting the image keeps the rest of the order, so your history and any rating
you left stay intact. If you want an administrator to remove a prescription on
your behalf, contact us and we will do it and record why.
## Deleting your account
**You can delete your account from inside the app**, under Profile → Account.
You do not need to write to us.
We ask for your password, and then we sign you out straight away and stop
sending you notifications. **Nothing is destroyed for 30 days.** That window
exists so that a mistake is recoverable: log in again during it and the app
offers to restore your account. After 30 days the deletion runs and cannot be
undone.
Any order that has not yet reached the counter is cancelled when you ask, and
the pharmacy is told — including one the pharmacy already priced and one you
already accepted. One exception: an order already prepared and waiting for
you to collect is left alone, because the medicine is on the counter.
When the deletion runs we destroy your name, email address, phone number,
password and **every prescription image you ever sent**.
**Your past orders stay, without you attached to them.** The pharmacy keeps its
own record of what it sold, when, and for how much — the same way a paper
receipt book does not empty when a customer moves away. Those records no longer
carry your name or your contact details, and no one can trace them back to you.
The messages you exchanged with a pharmacy stay on that order for the same
reason — a receipt book does not tear out the note that came with the sale.
Ratings you left stay too, and stay anonymous, because removing them would
change a pharmacy's score for reasons that have nothing to do with its service.
Before you delete, you can **download everything we hold about you** from the
same screen, as a single file.
## How it is stored
Prescription images are held in private storage. They are never published at a
public address. When the app or the pharmacy portal shows you an image, it uses
a temporary link that expires after 15 minutes.
## What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not show you advertising based on your prescriptions.
- We do not send your prescription to any pharmacy except the one you chose.
- We do not read your location when the map is closed.
## Contact
Write to **[email protected]** to ask what we hold about you, to complain,
or to ask for something to be removed. You can also download your data and
delete your account yourself, in the app, without writing to anyone.
